I'm not quite so sure I always put forth a good message about Korea, but I suppose I'm not mean and if I have something negative to say I usually try to disguise it with subtlety and humour.

I can't say I blame people not trusting blogs - but it's interesting you should mention that trust issue with the radio. I hadn't given it any thought but I suppose I've had to submit my résumé and visa details to the station and we've met and talked, so actually maybe there's a slight element of my having been fact-checked rather than just claiming to be one thing or another in a blog with no oversight.

As for Meniere's Disease, I don't talk about it much in this blog, so it's easy to miss by design. If people visit my blog it's for the Korean experiences, not to hear about a part of my life which would make for rather disturbing reading. I don't want - nor do I deserve - people's sympathy - but occasionally I feel it's contextually important enough to mention it - and I'm not going to always pretend my life is normal because it isn't.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15349691823513127693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-268789363253190247.post-35741270550351444692010-10-31T22:57:58.211+09:002010-10-31T22:57:58.211+09:00Hey Mike,

Having been on TBS's eFM (the equivalent to the station you were on, I suspect), Arirang, and other media sources, it's definitely a double-edged sword.

Or is it?

Look - they contacted you because you put forth a good message about Korea. You're fairly popular, and you're local. Getting your name out there to their readers is as good a publicity boost as there is in this country. Also, people seem to trust the radio more than the blogosphere - weird how Web 2.0 throws everything into a certain level of mistrust.

Incidentally, I had no idea about the Meniere's disease; from an avid reader and fellow K-blogger's perspective, it's not as obvious as you might think. Surely it manifests itself in a more real-world environment, but it's something you've managed well.Chris in South Koreahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07114300133329984235noreply@blogger.com
