Despite regular buzzing from mosquitoes in the last month I've proved oddly immune to their attacks, something I also avoided last year although it was getting towards the end of the season for them by then. I was beginning to harbour thoughts that I might be one of those people who are being discovered to emit a pheromone which repels them, but my delusions were shattered when I awoke the other day to a tell-tale red lump on my arm which soon began to itch annoyingly. I now find myself conducting inspections of the apartment on a regular basis because this means war.
